The Screamingly-funny
limericks as i found out the other day are not
(as i have mistakenly been led to believe since childhood)
just a piece of nonsense verse,
they are infact poems where lines 1,2 and 5 rhyme
and 3,4 rhyme with each other
this must be one of the best limericks i have heard
i have this inclination towards small
and tightly worded poetry
is it a sign of the sedentary life i lead .....
that i dont even feel like going through
long lines of poetry ?
today was just another day ......
another trip to mhow
lots of people this time
its funny though cetrizine does not seem to work on me
i had 2 tablets since morning
and i m still not feeling sleepy
sham did most of the work in strategy ......
and for all my enthu over the last month i cried off again
ah!.....sigh
i dont like myself this way
it drives me to mournful poetry :('As the poets have mournfully sung'
As the poets have mournfully sung,
Death takes the innocent young,
The rolling-in-money,
The screamingly-funny,
And those who are very well hung
W. H. Auden
this might be the mournful poetry auden talks about in his poem
:)
it is amazing by itself
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on; nor all your Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all your Tears wash out a Word of it.
Omar Khayyam
